Women are changing the face of agriculture and Illinois Agri Women and the professional agribusiness women who participated in last year’s event, who gave freely of their time are quite proud of this fact!
The success of this event depends on the generous support of businesses and an active participation of individuals involved in agriculture community. It is essential to gather a variety of individuals accurately portraying to women of all ages an array of career options available in agriculture.
This event is open to high school and college age young women involved in 4H, FFA and/or agriculture related courses as well as professional women considering a change in careers.
Career exploration opportunities will be broken down into four categories: Business, Production, Science & Technology and Government/Association/Trades. Participants will have the opportunity to meet one on one with presenters representing a broad spectrum of the agriculture industry. A past participant complimented the event stating, “it was great to learn about different career opportunities without the pressure of trying to land a job or get someone to take your resume.”
We invite every business, large or small, to send your very best Women in Agriculture to share their personal career story.
The members of Illinois Agri Women are currently seeking sponsorships from those in agribusiness to help defray expenses of this exciting and dynamic event which we anticipate will be attended by 500 participants and over 100 presenters in 2012. In these trying economic times, we realize advertising budgets are tight and we humbly and sincerely appreciate any and all monetary or ‘in kind’ donations your business may be able to provide. The intent of Illinois Agri Women is to keep attendance affordable for students of all education levels. Donations will be used to underwrite event costs and apply directly to programs and scholarships for young women pursuing educational opportunities in science, technology, engineering, agriculture and math. Your firm will be recognized appropriately in printed media as well as signs throughout the event.
