Challenge: Agriculture and it’s related industries provide nearly 10 percent of U.S. employment, but the number of students graduating with degrees in agricultural fields is not meeting industry demand.
OUr Response: The WCFA Career Exploration Event is an investment in the future of agriculture. This outreach project gives all women the opportunity to explore different career paths offered in teh agriculture sector. Our goal is to help attendees receive accurate information first hand from actual women agriculture professionals.
SCHOLARSHIPS
WCFA has awarded over $61,000 in scholarships in the history of this event.
Last year, we supported students with over $10,000 in scholarship and internship opportunities.
INDUSTRY INVOLVEMENT
Businesses, organizations and media partners came together to invest in the future of agriculture by giving their time, dollars and support of WCFA
In 2025, we had 23 companies represted by 61 professionals at our event.
STUDENT OUTREACH
In 2025, we hosted 575 high school students from 81 schools throughout the state of Illinois at our March 6 event.
In our 17 year history, we have reached over 8,000 students across the state of Illinois.
